Rob
Shepherd (Ph.D., D.Sc., P.E.)
is
one of the principal experts of Forensic Expert Advisers, Inc.
as well as serving as President of the Company. He has had more
than forty years experience in the analysis and design of structures.
He has consulted and published extensively in the area of behavior
of buildings and bridges, specializing in the dynamic response
to earthquakes.
He has
been involved in several high profile cases, presented expert
testimony in Federal and Superior Courts and is a Senior Member
of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers.
Recent professional
activities Dr. Shepherd had been engaged in include the ATC-33
Task Force on standards for seismic retrofit of timber buildings
and the SAC Joint Venture project Management Committee overseeing
investigations into problems of welded moment resistant steel
framed buildings. He was awarded the Stephenson B. Barnes' Award
by SEASOC for service as immediate past chair of the Ad Hoc Committee
on Testing Standards for Structural Systems and Components.
Dr. Shepherd is
an Emeritus Professor of Civil Engineering, University of California
and was a part-time Faculty Member at the California Institute
of Technology from 1993-1998. Currently he is a Member of the
Executive Committee of the American Society of Civil Engineers'
Technical Council for Forensic Engineering and the ATC-50.
